The Cross Keys Hotel is superbly situated in the heart of Kelso's picturesque French-style cobbled square. The present hotel was built in 1769, but in other forms a Cross Keys hotel has occupied this site since the earliest days of Scottish coaching inns.
Recently modernised throughout to the very highest standard, the Cross Keys today provides a warm and friendly welcome to its guests and excellent service from attentive, courteous staff.
The hotel is an ideal centre for business or pleasure - situated in a peaceful corner of Scotland, yet still within easy reach of Edinburgh and Newcastle.
The Cross Keys is run by the Becattelli family who provide that personal touch that makes all the difference to their guests.
Originally horse-drawn carriages used to drive through the centre of the hotel to stables behind. Now this entrance is the reception area.

An imaginative menu of light meals is available all day in the Oak RoomBistro
The Cross Keys restaurant, like other rooms on the ground floor, has recently been completely refurbished taking inspiration from the great Scottish Art Nouveau architect Charles MacIntosh. It provides a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with á la carte and table d'hôte dinner menus offering an excellent choice of traditional Scottish and International cuisine. The finest local produce is used wherever possible, and many dishes are prepared from ingredients for which the Scottish Borders is famous, such as Tweed salmon and lamb.
and beyond you can relax in the informality of the comfortable Lounge.
There are 28 bedrooms all charmingly decorated, all with en-suite adjoining bath or shower, double glazing and room controlled central heating.
In addition to the services you would expect in a good hotel, each room also has colour TV linked to an international multi-channel satellite system, direct dial telephone and tea and coffee making facilities.

Since 1997 we've been welcoming visitors from literally all over the world — and for many of them, Inglestone House has become a firm and regular favourite.

When they're in Kelso, they tell us, it's their home from home.

We've done a lot recently to make it so. The entire house has been carefully refurbished from top to bottom. We've retained it's handsome Victorian character but added a lot of new features to help make your stay even more enjoyable.

Of course, there are hundreds of good reasons to visit "The Romantic Town" of Kelso — outdoors, indoors, daytime, evening, on holiday or on business. Our aim, as a family run guest house, is to make your overnights more relaxing, more comfortable and even more of a pleasure.
