Kelso is said to be the most architecturally attractive of the Border Towns, and it is easy to see why. The town is set within a bend in the River Tweed, and opposite its confluence with the River Teviot. Kelso Rugby Football Club was founded in 1876. The ground is Poynder Park, which is situated at the end of Poynder Place, and the facilities there are the equal of any rugby ground in Scotland

The club, which has produced 16 Scottish internationalists so far, runs threee senior teams, an under 19 Harlequin team, midi and mini teams. The 1st XV are playing this season in the BT Scotland Premier Division 2 and also the Border League.

Training nights are Tuesday and Thursday at 7.00 pm. New players will be made most welcome.

Kelso is home to it's own left-hand racecourse, the River Tweed which is well known for excellent Salmon fishing and an eighteen hole golf course.
